XFS Linux has the following changes compared to Scientific Linux 302. For more information about this "site" of Scientific Linux contact yocum@fnal.gov ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added by putting in /sites/XFS/Updates/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The XFS-ized RHELv3 kernel built by the SGI folks (Eric Sandeen) and related packages. The xfs-modules package has been merged back into the kernel RPM so there it is no more. This enables the use of this kernel as a BOOT kernel to install on XFS formated system disks (/, /usr, /var, etc.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kernel acl-2.2.23-1.i386.rpm attr-2.4.16-1.i386.rpm dmapi-2.2.0-1.i386.rpm dmapi-devel-2.2.0-1.i386.rpm kernel-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.athlon.rpm kernel-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm kernel-BOOT-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i386.rpm kernel-doc-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i386.rpm kernel-hugemem-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm kernel-hugemem-unsupported-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm kernel-smp-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.athlon.rpm kernel-smp-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm kernel-smp-unsupported-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.athlon.rpm kernel-smp-unsupported-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm kernel-source-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i386.rpm kernel-unsupported-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.athlon.rpm kernel-unsupported-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i686.rpm libacl-2.2.23-1.i386.rpm libacl-devel-2.2.23-1.i386.rpm libattr-2.4.16-1.i386.rpm libattr-devel-2.4.16-1.i386.rpm xfsdump-2.2.21-1.i386.rpm xfsprogs-2.6.13-1.i386.rpm xfsprogs-devel-2.6.13-1.i386.rpm ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anaconda needed to be modified to enable formating the system disks with XFS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anaconda anaconda-9.1.2-2.7.SL.XFS.i386.rpm anaconda-runtime-9.1.2-2.7.SL.XFS.i386.rpm ------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Java RPMS are not installed by default as /sites/example/base/comps* does not include them. They can be installed via "yum" after the system is rebooted. The XFS-release is installed by default by adding it to /sites/XFS/base/comps*. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Java j2sdk-1.4.2_05-fcs.i586.rpm XFS-release-3.0.1-7.i386.rpm Contains /etc/redhat-release which defines release name. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Modifed by putting in /sites/XFS/Updates/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mozilla The latest stable release of mozilla was 1.7.2. It was decided to include it because of it's features, such as stability and a spellchecker. All of it's devel rpms were put into notsupported. mozilla-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-chat-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-dom-inspector-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-js-debugger-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-mail-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-nspr-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm mozilla-nss-1.7.2-0.2.0.EL.i386.rpm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installer changes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It uses kernel-BOOT-2.4.21-15.EL.sgi3.i386.rpm as the installer kernel by putting it in /sites/example/Updates/ . The gui final install screen suggests that you go to www.cern.ch/linux for support:-)(Just a example) This was done by getting the /iw/congrats_gui.py file from the anaconda SRPM and modifying it and putting it in /sites/example/RHupdates/iw/ . This is only a example of changing the installer.
